Privilege Denying Dude was shut down for ‘copyright infringement’ after a mass of complaints from angry people on Tumblr recently.  The iconic visual of the smug white man crossing his arms was replaced by a photograph from a reader before the meme generator template was restored.

It makes me absolutely wild with glee that so many misogynists, racists, and other online scum were trolled to the point of kicking and screaming for Tumblr to save them.

Because the opposition and backlash against this meme seems to suggest that even worse than the fact that people have privilege and use it against others is the fact that marginalized people sometimes feel like commenting on that fact. This is what lead George Bush to look back upon eight years of torture, extraordinary rendition, shitty foreign and domestic policy, stunted economic growth, cronyism and class warfare against the poor and complain that Kanye West hurt his feelings.

I am a white, well-educated man in his early thirties from the UK.  But, yes, those using the Privilege Denying Dude meme are correct.  Those who have a problem with PDD most likely are PDD.  And those who whine and moan about this so hard that the image has to be changed are PDDs who need to harden the fuck up.
